Traditional West African Drum/Dance Performance –
Saturday, October 18, starting at 5p.
We have arranged for Jason Aryeh, Professor of Dance at the University of Georgia, and several of his students from the Dance Department to perform a traditional West African dance. Live drummers will accompany the performance. The show starts at 5 pm. After the performance, Musa Sutton will lead a community drum circle using African Djembe hand drums. Many thanks to The Arts Barn for their help and collaboration on the performance pieces. Also, thanks to Luxury Outdoor Travel for their help in sponsoring the performance.

If you are unable to attend one of our public events and would like to make a private appointment, please submit a request with our online form.
MORE DETAILS: :For more than two decades, a rare collection of Western African art lay untouched—carefully preserved in climate-controlled storage by the late Becky Phillips of Atlanta, a passionate collector whose discerning eye captured the spirit of a continent. Now, after 24, these treasures emerge into the light once more.
Masks, textiles, sculptures, and paintings—each piece whispers stories of tradition, resilience, and beauty. What was once hidden is now unveiled, offering collectors and admirers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to add to their collection.
100’s of pieces of original African framed artwork, textiles, masks, and more are available for purchase. We are excited to showcase an extensive collection of gorgeous African artwork, most of which was beautifully framed by David Siffert from Dress the Walls.
All artwork will be on display & for sale at Barrel 118 for two weeks only this October.
