We are bringing together a few days full of flowers, sweet treats, fun activities, exquisite marketplace vendors, live music, and delicious craft cocktails all in a beautiful setting at Barrel 118.   This is a fun collaborative & community event thoughtfully designed to celebrate all the Moms and ladies in your life.   Find the perfect gift for Mom, or bring her along for a fun day of shopping and activities.   Registration is now CLOSED for our special events below.  But you’re welcome to come shop the marketplace and join us for Happy HOUR!

Mother's Day Vendors

WEDNESDAY, MAY 7

NOON – 7PM  |  SHOP THE MARKETPLACE VENDORS anytime and register in advance for these fun events. 

1 – 3PM  |  Mad Hatter Tea Party*

Tea sandwiches & sweet treats w/ Merci Cakes.  Each Tea Party Box includes three (3) traditional tea sandwich bites, a freshly baked scone with cream & jam, a delicate macaron, and a beautifully crafted petit four – the perfect assortment for an elegant teatime experience.  Pop-in anytime between 1 – 3 pm to enjoy your box of goodies.  $25+ per person – must register in advance!  Variety of craft cocktail tea party beverages and NA hot/iced tea available for purchase.  Additional sweet treats & cookies from local pastry chef and 6x Food Network Champion – Reva Alexander Hawk @MerciCakes also available for purchase both days.    


5:30 – 7PM | Floral Workshop w/ Myrna*

Calling all flower enthusiasts! During this immersive workshop, you’ll receive basic floral design instruction, along with some tricks of the trade. With guidance from our Taylor Flowers & Gifts team, you’ll design a full-scale floral arrangement to bring home, just in time for Mother’s Day.  Lush florals, a container, and tools will be provided.   The workshop fee is $75 and seats are limited, so don’t delay! This is a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends in the community while learning a bit about floral design.


1- 4 PM – BOTH DAYS | Cocktail Garden

Drop in anytime between 1-4 pm on Wednesday or Thursday to create your own herb garden with Seeking Slow & enjoy herb infused cocktails – hand-crafted by Melanie the Barrel 118 Mixologist.  

 No registration necessary!

12 – 1PM Lunch & Learn  –  Sow with Success* 

Seeking Slow Seed 101 Join deLacy Leverette of Seeking Slow and the Leaf and Bell Flower Farm for a gourmet lunch and a lecture on Seed Starting 101.  Lunch will likely feature a trio of hearty salads, baked goods, and organic lemonade.   $25 per person. 
Sow with Success Lecture topics will include:
1) The benefits of growing from seed.
2) Seed sowing supplies.
3) Detailed demonstration of starting your seeds indoors.
4) Q/A – bring your questions! 


4 – 5:30PM | Good Energy – Book Club

Join yoga instructor Juliet Ruhl and health coach Anne Hays for the Good Energy Book Club expoloring the science based insigts of “Good Energy” by Casey Means.   No registration necessary!  Learn more > 

 

 


5 – 8PM | Live Music & Happy Hour in the Backstage Lounge

Happy HourJoin us for our Happy Hour in the Backstage Lounge and enjoy live music! Happy Hour starts at FIVE and goes until 8 PM.    Enjoy a special menu of creative tea & floral-infused craft cocktails/mocktails.  Wine & beer also available.  The Marketplace will be open during happy hour so you can sip, shop and sway to the music while enjoying the company of friends & family at a really cool venue!  What’s for dinner?  DOUGH DADDY DOUGH Chicago Pan Style Pizza available  on-site!

Join us any time on Wednesday and Thursday between 12 (noon) and 7 pm to shop the Pop-Up Market shops.  Enjoy a floral-infused specialty cocktail and/or mocktail while you shop.  Sampling and cocktail demos throughout the day.
